We’ve just crossed the 25,000 game mark. Next up, 30,000! We hope we can get as much help as possible to build the largest database of games anywhere on the internet. You can help at http://developers.newhaze.com.
At NewHaze, we are proud to announce our brand new search feature! You can find it at:
You can search every game in the NewHaze database and it takes you to the location of the game on the site of the owner.
It also has an advanced algorithm which determines the quality of a game and what people think of it. This helps provide you with the best search results.
If your game is in the database, you can link the game to your account and homepage by going to developers.newhaze.com.
You may have noticed that not only has the blog moved to newhaze.com/blog, we have also changed the design to try and connect it a bit more with NewHaze. We are hoping to use the blog much more to make users aware of the latest changes to the site. We also want to make you more aware of the projects we are undertaking and make you more aware of NewHaze as a business.
This may not be the final version – we’ll probably make changes as we see problems, but I think we have got a good prototype up and running now!
As always, we’d love to hear what you think and it would be awesome to get some of your ideas for what could come later on in the NewHaze project!
We are planning launching an app platform so developers can build applications on the NewHaze Developers platform. They will be able to build applications for other developers to use, and will also be able to build custom API calls to be called through the NewHaze API, which provides very secure authentication. These API calls will have meaningful text names, rather than randomly assigned numbers in order to provide the API developers with a better brand identity, and to help people using the APIs understand what each call is, without having to run the code.
We are hoping these features will be a valuable addition to the NewHaze services and that developers will feel safe and secure both using and developing these innovative tools.
We now have a child-site. It’s a website called Approxidates.
Bascially, it’s a calendar. You have a calendar, your Facebook friends all have calendars. You set the status of a day to either busy or available. Once you’ve done this, you can compare your calendar with your friends’ very quickly and easily, then it highlights the days when all the people are not busy.
It saves time organising events and generally makes life easier.
We hope you enjoy using it!
We’ve made some slight tweaks to the homepage. It now displays only the game images. When you hover over an image, it gives you the name and description of the game. This is a much neater layout, and hopefully you’ll love it as much as we do!
We plan to make a few more changes to the site in the coming months. Already, we have altered the way the pages are generated to provide better search engine results from an external search engine. We have also included the Open Graph protocol into our pages, which will make sharing content much easier.
In the near future, we are hoping to provide you with more relevant games on the homepage in order to provide a better gaming experience for you.
But for now, you can check out the latest site changes at http://www.newhaze.com.
We’ve launched a new Devs Dot design. We announced that we would a few days ago… and now, well, we have!
We are also phasing out the name “Devs Dot” – we’re moving towards “NewHaze Developers”. We think it sums up the site much better.
We’ve still got a bit of work to do on the new design, but the bulk of the design is now in place.
We changed the harsh grey header to a white one (a bit more summery) to give it a fresher look. We changed a few of the graphics around and brought in an all-new logo to show off the new site and new brand of “NewHaze Developers” which ties in with the main NewHaze brand (NewHaze logo is in Developer’s logo) and the word “Developers” shows what we do much better than “Devs Dot” which may have been short and snappy, but wasn’t very self explanatory!
We’ve built a new insights application for your websites, games and advertising campaigns. The aim is to provide all site users with an accurate picture of who is using your work. This will help you better target your work to meet your market.
You can check it out by logging in and visiting the advertising page, or going to your game’s profile page and clicking on the “statistics” link.
One of the most exciting things about these new analytics is that they are live updating, so you can see changes happening there and then. We hope our users appreciate this fantastic new tool, and they benefit you!
We’ve got to make a few “visual adjustments” to the site too, and I think we’ll make these changes when we update the UI very soon in the redesign.
Expected completion date: 1st July 2010
Completed on: 30th June 2010
We’ve got plans to redesign the site slightly.
We thought we’d make it a bit lighter, so we’ve got rid of the big grey space at the top and tried to connect it more to the NewHaze brand.
On the whole, the rest of the page is quite similar, it is mainly the top section we are changing.
You can find the full announcement here.
Expected completion date: 23rd July 2010
Like NewHaze Connected, but for existing websites. Includes the admin section.
