Information we receive
Information you give us
Personal information: In order to use NewHaze, you do not need to provide any information. If you register through the web form, you are only required to enter your email address and desired password.
Content: If you write comments on games or profiles, or rate games then this information will be stored on NewHaze and will be publicly available. If you do not wish for this to happen, please do not add content to NewHaze.
Information we collect
Game play information: Your game plays may be logged and presented on your news feed. This data may be used to produce statistics for games, however no personally identifiable data will be available to developers.
Site activity: When using NewHaze, you may add or remove friends. This data will be stored on NewHaze in order for the friendship to be established.
Advertising information: We log each advert view and advert click on NewHaze. This data is not linked back to user accounts, but information such as language and country are stored. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on NewHaze. Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to you based on your visit to NewHaze and other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.
Information we receive from third parties
External websites: External website may provide data of actions taken on their website in order to feed back to the news feed on NewHaze. This can include game play data and commenting data.
Registration via a web service: If you choose to register via an external web service, or connect using an external web service, we may collect data which we need in order to operate. This includes your name, gender and profile picture. You can optionally supply us with your email address at a later date.
Sharing information
Profile: Currently, all user's profiles are public. This includes their news feed and profile pictures.
Contact information: NewHaze does not share contact information, such as passwords, with other users. However, if you reveal your contact information from within the website, this will be publicly available to all users of the site.
Information shared with third parties
Information you share with external websites: If you choose to connect with a third party website, they have access to limited data. They can access your profile, your favorite games, your news feed, your friends and their basic data. They are not able to access further data without your consent.
Information your friends share with external websites: If your friends connect with a third party website, this website may access basic data about you, such as your profile picture, name and profile URL. If you have communicated with a user through their news feed, they can access this data. If your friend grants further permissions, the website may be able to access more data, such as personal messages.
How we use your information
To contact you: If we need to contact you to notify you of changes then we may email you. You may opt-out of some mailings, such as the newsletter.
To build your news feed: Game play information, ratings and comments are used to build your news feed.
How you can change or remove information
Editing your settings: You can edit the settings for your account by going to the account settings page.
Removing your account: You can remove your NewHaze account completely by contacting us.
How we protect information
Security: We make sure that sensitive information, such as passwords, are stored securely. These are held in an encrypted form within our database.
We are not responsible if anyone "hacks" your user account or the NewHaze database, although we protect data as much as possible to prevent this from happening. We are also not responsible if information is shared by other users, however you can report this behaviour by contacting us.
